As iron sharpens iron, so one man sharpens and influences another through discussion.
I finally got to catch up with a dear friend a week ago.
We had made plans to eat a few days before and I anticipated with much excitement our visit.
Throughout the work day I sang songs of some of our best home karaoke performances--
Oh, we rock, well mainly me, she’s an ok sidekick 😜--
Reminisced in my head funny texts we have sent each other --
We are the best comedians and I wish I could share with you our hilarious and witty humor but she’s all into being a “professional” or something 😒
Laying aside the jocoseness for a moment—which is also exactly what we did for a portion of our visit--
We talked deeply about different events in life and how we were both dealing, even brought up some of the ugly stuff —the kind of things that are pushed way deep down and then percolates back up, usually at the wrong time. Lol
(little known fact, I’m a PRO at storing away and covering with humor uncomfortable things)
Our visit was great. She’s a true blessing in my life.
God has given me such favor to have friends that love me-especially after they get to know the real Rebecca.
We all know the verse that says a friend loveth at all times (Proverbs 17:17)--
What hit me this past week is that a friend CHOOSES to be a part of your life.
They willingly decide to invest time in and with you- and that speaks volumes.
Praise God for the friends in your life who love YOU-
and stop wasting time on the people you are afraid to be yourself around.
If you aren’t sure of what to look for/or how you are to be in a relationship, well,
The perfect model of being a friend is Jesus.
