Galatians 6:7-10 -Make no mistake about it, God will never be mocked. For what you plant will always be the very thing you harvest-the harvest you reap reveals the seed that was planted. if you plant corrupt seeds, you harvest corruption. if you plant good seeds, you will reap beautiful fruits of the spirit. take advantage of every opportunity to be a blessing to others.
i was just talking with some friends this week and we were discussing consequences to sins. this stemmed from the most interesting amercement that one friend gave to her son as a penalty for his disobedience.
by the way, she's pretty cunning on punishment hand outs so you may want to call her if your current sanctions are not working on your offspring.
also, i'm super glad she's my friend and not my mom, ha ha.
the weight of sins and mistakes can be so damning, and many times the guilt of our transgressions can sink your mind into depression.
but praise god, when we ask for forgiveness he immediately and readily washes us clean.
in this world though, there are still consequences to our actions.
(yes, god forgives completely--i'm not talking about the common catty forgiveness we give others,
as in "oh I forgive you but i am not going to trust you and i am not forgetting what you did".
no, my god makes it clear that there is no record of your sin at the point of his forgiveness.)
when god clears your slate, that is where you have to dig deeper into his word--
don't stop just because the offense is gone with him.
galatians reminds us to start again and plant good seeds, ones that god can use to bless the work of your hands--
because of our previous sins, there may be seasons that we go through that seem as if others will never get past what you did, but don't get disheartened--
god says "the season of reaping the wonderful harvest you've planted is coming!
and let me tell you that when my god speaks--he means every word and it will come to pass.
**there's a pic of my family on this post because, well, family is usually the ones we hurt the most with our blunders in life.
i'm so thankful for my family and that they love me--too bad i can't reprogram their minds to forget my 2 or 3 mistakes-lol
